Lautaro Navarro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ennio De Nardis's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. The supporters of XMAS booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmundo Espiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. The XMAS fans' excitement grew in the 8th match minute when XMAS's Ennio De Nardis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ennio De Nardis in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Milagros Cabal got a free kick in the 13th minute. After 13 played minutes, XMAS's Domenico Mantini shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in XMAS reached it. Sebastian Villa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Concetto Garibaldi having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Edmundo Espiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Concetto Garibaldi was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugenio Casiraghi, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Eugenio Casiraghi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. After 35 minutes of play, XMAS's Eugenio Casiraghi made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lautaro Navarro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alessandro Vettori charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alessandro Vettori the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to XMAS getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Alessandro Vettori hit a great ball. Concetto Garibaldi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edmundo Espiga might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Concetto Garibaldi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edmundo Espiga ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half XMAS were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Ennio De Nardis made the kick off in the second half. Concetto Garibaldi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Villa in the 54th minute of play. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ennio De Nardis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Honduras's Esteban Carvallo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Comunardo Quadrini, made in the 62nd minute of the game. Edmundo Espiga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Concetto Garibaldi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Tafalla in the 71st minute of play forced XMAS's goalkeeper Concetto Garibaldi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Milagros Cabal got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 76th match minute, XMAS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Comunardo Quadrini to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, XMAS's Alessandro Vettori got a free kick in the 78th minute. After a defensive mix-up in XMAS's zone, Moises Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Concetto Garibaldi came out of the goal and Moises Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 81st minute of play forced XMAS's goalkeeper Concetto Garibaldi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmundo Espiga struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Concetto Garibaldi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Villa in the 86th minute of play forced XMAS's goalkeeper Concetto Garibaldi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moises Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Concetto Garibaldi having to interfere. The XMAS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing XMAS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
