Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yoncho Spaskov in the 53rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yanick Winnepennincx in the 54th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ezequiel Pernambucano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Ezequiel Pernambucano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 69th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ezequiel Pernambucano could save by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romelio Lukaku in the 74th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pierrot Uyttebroeck in the 75th minute of play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Ezequiel Pernambucano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yoncho Spaskov in the 83rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yoncho Spaskov in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. In the 88th minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ezequiel Pernambucano made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target.
