Torsten Västerberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of play forced BOCHINI Y BERTONI's goalkeeper Torsten Västerberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Godfredo Feliu struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BOCHINI Y BERTONI. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Torsten Västerberg saved BOCHINI Y BERTONI from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 21st minute of play forced BOCHINI Y BERTONI's goalkeeper Torsten Västerberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santiago Gitano got free with Julio Vera in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 34th minute Godfredo Feliu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. BOCHINI Y BERTONI's Torsten Västerberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Montenegro in the 37th minute of play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Torsten Västerberg having to interfere. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Torsten Västerberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st match minute, BOCHINI Y BERTONI was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesus Sabin to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita had several of the BOCHINI Y BERTONI's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 66 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-1 score and a disappointed Torsten Västerberg as he didn't even see the shot coming. BOCHINI Y BERTONI's Braulio Frutos was substituted for Santiago Gitano. In the 71st minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita managed to work through BOCHINI Y BERTONI's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Daniel Zorita dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 81st minute, Godfredo Feliu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braulio Frutos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, BOCHINI Y BERTONI's Torsten Västerberg got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by BOCHINI Y BERTONI's Braulio Frutos. But to his dismay, Braulio Frutos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 94th minute, Godfredo Feliu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
