Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Godoi, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Julian Murillo 20 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Peru's Eliseo Mina quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ernani Velasco, made in the 23rd minute of the game. In the 32nd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Varela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Allan Varela had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. The audience thought a goal was coming when 吴洲坚 got free with Rolando Noboa in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Palestra do Interior were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Peru's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Romário Barbosa took the corner. After some careless play in the Palestra do Interior defense, Rafael Gallo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Allan Varela. The Palestra do Interior fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Allan Varela should have stopped the shot. Ernani Velasco hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Rafael Gallo took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Allan Varela. Allan Varela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Peru fully deserved thier win.
