Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Isidoro Beltran started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the game, Jorg Pieters cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Independiente's Pepe Santoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 12th minute of play. When Independiente's Jorg Pieters in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Independiente's Sören Bengtsson. But to his dismay, Sören Bengtsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 27th minute, Sören Bengtsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Venezuela's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Jorg Pieters 32 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isidoro Beltran in the 35th minute. Pepe Santoro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 37th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isidoro Beltran in the 40th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felipe Roldan went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Isidoro Beltran's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. The supporters of Independiente booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Beltran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 72nd minute, Sören Bengtsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Øssur í Lon Jacobsen kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. The corner led to Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sören Bengtsson in the 85th minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorg Pieters in the 91st minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Independiente fully deserved thier win.
