An unexpectedly hard shot by Segundo Niva in the 12th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ball Hold took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Pegale De Puntín getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Lukács Révész hit a great ball. When Prudencio Fernado fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pegale De Puntín's protests and gave Prudencio Fernado a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Pegale De Puntín getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Prudencio Fernado hit a great ball. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Segundo Niva in the 20th minute of the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Pegale De Puntín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prudencio Fernado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cyprian Walicki kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Segundo Niva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Segundo Niva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ball Hold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pegale De Puntín's Ball Hold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th match minute, Pegale De Puntín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Rocio to maneuver through the defense. Ball Hold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Segundo Niva in the 46th minute of the match. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Pegale De Puntín's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ball Hold came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Pegale De Puntín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Rocio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ball Hold breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ball Hold stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Zorita's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. In the 71st minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ball Hold saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alejo Gonsalvo made a great header on Pegale De Puntín's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Pegale De Puntín's Matias Ramond was substituted for Rogelio Bilbo. After 84 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alejo Gonsalvo who took care of the corner kick. Leopoldo Rocio kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
