The audience was convinced that Martins Palermo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marco Day was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. The supporters of Fecha Libre booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Mcdonald didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yu Tian Yan charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Yu Tian Yan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Fecha Libre's Yu Tian Yan got a free kick in the 48th minute. Fecha Libre's Emiliano Martínez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 48th minute of play.
