Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Venezuela's Tomas Illescas started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jean-Marc Taillefer in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 18 minutes into the match, AC Cristal's Greg Lequesne sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as AC Cristal's Greg Lequesne slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 after 23 minutes of play. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Greg Lequesne tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Greg Lequesne in the 31st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas got a free kick in the 38th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Elias Bocage was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jean-Marc Taillefer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 48 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Greg Lequesne came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
After 51 minutes, Greg Lequesne mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AC Cristal and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. Venezuela made a substitution. Guillermo Espina replaced Camilo Gaos. In the 53rd match minute, AC Cristal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Greg Lequesne to maneuver through the defense. AC Cristal's Elias Bocage proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save AC Cristal from getting a goal against them. 60 minutes into the match, AC Cristal's goalkeeper Elias Bocage had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. In the 62nd minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Greg Lequesne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. AC Cristal's Elias Bocage proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save AC Cristal from getting a goal against them. Jean-Marc Taillefer struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC Cristal. 70 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-Marc Taillefer came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Jose Correa fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jose Correa a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Greg Lequesne in the 76th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Greg Lequesne put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. 80 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-Marc Taillefer came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute, Jean-Marc Taillefer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After 88 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Greg Lequesne in the 89th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Greg Lequesne went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Roland Graziani kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After having played for 92 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. AC Cristal's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
