Jacobo Nores didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kajetan Wolniewicz went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kajetan Wolniewicz in the 14th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Aston Villa F.C's Kajetan Wolniewicz in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 45th minute, Jaime Pardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kajetan Wolniewicz in the 46th minute of the match. 48 minutes into the match, Kajetan Wolniewicz notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Paraguay's Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Pardo to make the kick off. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Aparecido in the 55th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Jose Sanz got a free kick in the 55th minute. Jose Sanz hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Aston Villa F.C's Kajetan Wolniewicz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jacobo Nores. That made the score 0-4 after 67 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Aston Villa F.C's Daniel Doherty got a free kick in the 69th minute. Thorsten Schuhmacher's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thorsten Schuhmacher helped the player get up and apologised. Thorsten Schuhmacher hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Aston Villa F.C's Kajetan Wolniewicz got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Paraguay from getting a goal against them. Rodriguinho Miranda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thorsten Schuhmacher hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute of the match Primitivo Escribano shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodriguinho Miranda showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
