Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Mexico's Joel Gaona started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. After some careless play in the Júbilo Iwata defense, Lautaro Mancebo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Giovanni Pena. The Júbilo Iwata fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Giovanni Pena should have stopped the shot. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 28 minutes Júbilo Iwata's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Macos Graciani hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Ivan Xabier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 39th minute. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Facundo Cadaval got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. In the 54th minute, Mexico's Joel Gaona ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Giovanni Pena. Giovanni Pena yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Júbilo Iwata's Giovanni Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 58th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Júbilo Iwata's Juvenal Mendonça got a free kick in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute, Joel Gaona ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Giovanni Pena was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. With a little luck, Júbilo Iwata's Giovanni Pena got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by Júbilo Iwata's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Luca Rouco almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Júbilo Iwata's Giovanni Pena did a great save. In the 69th minute, Joel Gaona reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Giovanni Pena. The goal made the score 0-5. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ivan Xabier in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alberto Tafalla in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giovanni Pena saved Júbilo Iwata from getting behind. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerônimo Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 81 minutes of play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Giovanni Pena was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 85th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Júbilo Iwata's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Facundo Cadaval almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Júbilo Iwata's Giovanni Pena did a great save. In the 88th minute of the match, Joel Gaona tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Giovanni Pena saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Roberto Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Giovanni Pena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
