The corner led La Fenix's Klim Simonov to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A well-hit corner resulted in Camilo Gaos heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 19th minute, Arnoldo Cambiasso made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 26th minute, Arnoldo Cambiasso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 30 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Arnoldo Cambiasso in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When La Fenix's Arnoldo Cambiasso in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. La Fenix's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eloy Truylos in the 34th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Hernandez came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. La Fenix's Arnoldo Cambiasso got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The wind increased when Arnoldo Cambiasso made the kick off in the second half. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnoldo Cambiasso in the 55th minute of the match. La Fenix's Eliseo Tolino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save La Fenix from getting a goal against them. Ovidio Hitzeder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arnoldo Cambiasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. When Paulino Peter came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the La Fenix fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulino Peter couldn't finish the play. Eliseo Tolino made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnoldo Cambiasso in the 72nd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 73 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eloy Truylos who took care of the corner kick. La Fenix's Eloy Truylos was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 75th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of La Fenix booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 80 minutes of play, La Fenix's Leo Nuxila made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Nuxila in the 84th minute of play. After 87 played minutes La Fenix got a freekick which was hit by Klim Simonov. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Eliseo Tolino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Leo Nuxila's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
