The Boreham Wood FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Jan Kaznocha took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jan Kaznocha's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jan Kaznocha helped the player get up and apologised. The crowd rose to their feet as Lautaro Puig kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wlodzimierz Kilarski. That made the score 1-1 in the 19 minute of play. Costa Rica's Eliseo Noboa got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karol Sitko in the 25th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Karol Sitko came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 28 minutes, Alan Moruga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Boreham Wood FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 29 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karol Sitko, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Boreham Wood FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wlodzimierz Rutecki didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damian Niedziela in the 43rd minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karol Sitko made a kick off. Wlodzimierz Kilarski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Puig in the 51st minute of the match. The supporters of Boreham Wood FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Alcocer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th play minute Karol Sitko came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Benito Sanz. 1-2. 58 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Wlodzimierz Kilarski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alexander Carballo got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. When Karol Sitko in the 69th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Benito Sanz kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 2-3 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. 73 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Wlodzimierz Kilarski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 77th minute, Eliseo Noboa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Damian Niedziela, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 83rd minute Karol Sitko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karol Sitko's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. With his leg Benito Sanz managed to avoid a goal in the 87thth minute, when Boreham Wood FC's Karol Sitko fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karol Sitko got free with Benito Sanz in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
