An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 3rd minute of play forced SE Palestra Itália's goalkeeper Tony Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 4th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. SE Palestra Itália's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mexico's Joel Gaona was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tony Chaves in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Tony Chaves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 8th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SE Palestra Itália's Clayton Sergi got a free kick in the 11th minute. SE Palestra Itália's Tony Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 12th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Tony Chaves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Betão Vargas did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Dante Lacasa 17 minutes into the match. Bruno Campon struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Dante Lacasa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SE Palestra Itália. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 26th minute of play forced SE Palestra Itália's goalkeeper Tony Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tony Chaves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, SE Palestra Itália's Bruno Campon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 32 minutes into the game, Alfredão Corrêa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SE Palestra Itália's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. After a rather tough play, SE Palestra Itália's Alfredão Corrêa got a free kick in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Betão Vargas in the 34th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tony Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 35th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 41st minute of play forced SE Palestra Itália's goalkeeper Tony Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clayton Sergi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in SE Palestra Itália's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tony Chaves came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Betão Vargas was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Betão Vargas in the 54th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 55 played minutes SE Palestra Itália got a freekick which was hit by Edson Fernandes. SE Palestra Itália's Richard Mendes was substituted for Clayton Sergi. After 56 played minutes SE Palestra Itália got a freekick which was hit by Edson Fernandes. Tony Chaves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 60th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, SE Palestra Itália's Acar Buğrahan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 61st minute, Acar Buğrahan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SE Palestra Itália fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. SE Palestra Itália's Cristóvão Madureira was substituted for Acar Buğrahan. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Mendes in the 65th minute of the match. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Betão Vargas went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. In the 76th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Rouco to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute, Richard Mendes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Betão Vargas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betão Vargas in the 84th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Gaona in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tony Chaves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tony Chaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 90th minute of the match. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Chaves having to interfere. Bruno Dias's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruno Dias helped the player get up and apologised. Bruno Dias hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Mexico's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
