The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pinheiros Capibaras FC's goalkeeper Tang Quan Yan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tomas Berganza's late challenge caught a Pinheiros Capibaras FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tomas Berganza helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Panama's Tomas Berganza got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 10th minute, Tony Carioca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Berganza in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tang Quan Yan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jhonny Rabelo in the 18th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Pinheiros Capibaras FC's Silvinho Quintal, in the 22nd minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Pinheiros Capibaras FC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Berganza in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tang Quan Yan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marcos Cotilla was a little too slow when Silvinho Quintal got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 25th minute. The score was now 2-0. When Tomas Berganza came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tang Quan Yan having to interfere. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Narciso Mendes in the 41st minute. Tang Quan Yan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 44th minute of play. In the 46th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tang Quan Yan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tang Quan Yan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Berganza's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silvinho Quintal to make the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abraham Alguacil got free with Tang Quan Yan in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Panama's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Abraham Alguacil in the 52nd minute. The corner ended in Miguel Miralles almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Pinheiros Capibaras FC's Tang Quan Yan did a great save. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvinho Quintal in the 53rd minute of the match. Tang Quan Yan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. When Abraham Alguacil fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panama's protests and gave Abraham Alguacil a yellow card for diving instead. After 56 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Abraham Alguacil. 60 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Narciso Mendes came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Narciso Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Tang Quan Yan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 67th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alex Cambeiro during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Panama's Alex Cambeiro got a free kick in the 68th minute. Tang Quan Yan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Isidoro Sarmiento's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Narciso Mendes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Narciso Mendes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Pinheiros Capibaras FC had won after a very even match.
