Silvinho Quintal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Lautaro Navarro made a huge save. Pinheiros Capibaras FC's Tang Quan Yan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 22nd minute of play. After 23 minutes Pinheiros Capibaras FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Edmundo Espiga who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Pinheiros Capibaras FC's goalie and right to Esteban Carvallo. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Pinheiros Capibaras FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After 25 minutes, Rogério Barreto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pinheiros Capibaras FC and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 25 played minutes Pinheiros Capibaras FC got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Barreto. In the 27th match minute, Pinheiros Capibaras FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narciso Mendes to maneuver through the defense. In the 30th minute, Pinheiros Capibaras FC's Jhonny Rabelo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Pinheiros Capibaras FC's Tang Quan Yan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 37th minute of play. Jhonny Rabelo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Valentín Carvallo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 42 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Narciso Mendes came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Silvinho Quintal to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Ivan Navarro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Honduras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pinheiros Capibaras FC the free kick. Pinheiros Capibaras FC's Silvinho Quintal couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 55th minute. Tang Quan Yan had great luck who in the 58thth minute grab hold of the ball when Edmundo Espiga from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 61 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Jhonny Rabelo came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jhonny Rabelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Pinheiros Capibaras FC's Miguel Soeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Edmundo Espiga struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Tang Quan Yan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. Edmundo Espiga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Tang Quan Yan when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Pinheiros Capibaras FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Honduras had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
