After a defensive mix-up in Stennäs FF's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olov Strand came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 8 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Olov Strand made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Olov Strand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Olov Strand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of play. Olov Strand came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Olov Strand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olov Strand having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Stennäs FF's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Olov Strand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Stennäs FF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Olov Strand quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Primitivo Andino hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Stennäs FF's Henning Lingren fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Henning Lingren was the one to do the kick off. In the 59th minute Henning Lingren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Henning Lingren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henning Lingren in the 64th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Henning Lingren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. The Stennäs FF fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
