Alan Tavares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Jacobo Nores made a huge save. Rogelio Lynch received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jacobo Nores came out and tried to block the shot, but Rogelio Lynch slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 15th minute. In the 19th match minute, Paraguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hector Covarrubias to maneuver through the defense. Jacobo Nores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan Tavares in the 24th minute of play. With splendid footwork Rogelio Lynch arrived in front of goal to shoot 8-0 by the left pole in the game's 35th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stefan Neubrandt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Internazionale-RS's Rogelio Lynch slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jacobo Nores. That made the score 9-0 after 40 minutes of play. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Internazionale-RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dany-Adams De Scheper didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 46 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Prats. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 9-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jaime Pardo was the one to do the kick off. A sloppy throw-in by Alan Tavares in the 53rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Paraguay's Raul Venegas. Dany-Adams De Scheper kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Internazionale-RS's Moisés Cordeiro was substituted for Dany-Adams De Scheper. A collision led to Internazionale-RS getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Dany-Adams De Scheper hit a great ball. 63 minutes into the game, Internazionale-RS's Rogelio Lynch nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacobo Nores made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 11-0. Hector Covarrubias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Neubrandt having to interfere. Wang Ting Hong kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogelio Lynch in the 72nd minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute of the match Moisés Cordeiro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jacobo Nores skillfully saved the ball. Primitivo Escribano kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Paraguay defense, Pedro Augusto Alves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jacobo Nores. The Paraguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacobo Nores should have stopped the shot. If Pedro Augusto Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16-0 became the score in the 94th minute when Pedro Augusto Alves elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Paraguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
