If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Sporting Buceo's Piearres Somiedo in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Piearres Somiedo in the 14th minute of play. Favila Heras kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Vachon Camaño 18 minutes into the match. Vachon Camaño took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescass short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Vachon Camaño to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 33rd minute Nardo Tuo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 37thth minute tested the skills of Vachon Camaño when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Piearres Somiedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Sporting Buceo's Sidoro Romeu got a free kick in the 47th minute.

Vachon Camaño made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 53rd minute of play. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Sporting Buceo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Favila Heras didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jose Correa kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting Buceo's Piearres Somiedo. But to his dismay, Piearres Somiedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Piearres Somiedo in the 66th minute of play. Piearres Somiedo hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 73 minutes into the match, Piearres Somiedo notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Erroman Delgado fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sporting Buceo's protests and gave Erroman Delgado a yellow card for diving instead. In the 75th match minute, Sporting Buceo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erroman Delgado to maneuver through the defense. Erroman Delgado kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Vachon Camaño made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 78th minute of play. Erroman Delgado made a great header on Sporting Buceo's corner, it was just that Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant managed to reach the ball for a save. After having played for 95 minutes, Gilmar Cuadrillero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting Buceo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilmar Cuadrillero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sporting Buceo eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
