Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. 6 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s Raul Brandao. Raul Brandao was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 9th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Raul Brandao. ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 12th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Raul Brandao tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montenegro to a score. 0-3 in the 20th minute. After a defensive mix-up in ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s zone, Agustín Saelices stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raul Brandao came out of the goal and Agustín Saelices tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 27th minute of play forced ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s goalkeeper Raul Brandao to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. 31 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Raul Brandao made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho scored 0-6 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Raul Brandao, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Raul Brandao showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 42nd minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Calito Garcia was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raul Brandao breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 55th play minute Daniel Zorita came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Raul Brandao. 0-8. In the 58th minute, Luis Andino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Raul Brandao was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. In the 63rd match minute, ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgardo Arias to maneuver through the defense. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raul Brandao made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 68th minute. Raul Brandao made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, ►Las Mercedes F.C◄'s goalkeeper Raul Brandao had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. After having played for 72 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Raul Brandao made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 78th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Daniel Zorita slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Raul Brandao. That made the score 0-10 after 81 minutes of play. Raul Brandao was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 0-11. Edgardo Arias's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edgardo Arias helped the player get up and apologised. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Raul Brandao didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felix Montes during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 96th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. Andres Villalobos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ►Las Mercedes F.C◄ throughout the match.
