Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Emiliano Velasco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. An unexpected shot in the 13th minute by Dinu Ivănescu got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Pastor Tino sent off a good shot on target. In the 19th minute Emiliano Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Despidida AFC's Emiliano Velasco. But to his dismay, Emiliano Velasco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Emiliano Velasco in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Despidida AFC's Emiliano Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando Selatse prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th minute of the match, Emiliano Velasco tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 38 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Dinu Ivănescu came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emiliano Velasco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fernando Selatse narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliano Velasco in the 58th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pastor Tino in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pastor Tino in the 62nd minute of play. In the 65th minute Emiliano Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Selatse having to interfere. Despidida AFC's Kajetan Gdowik was substituted for Pastor Tino. Despidida AFC's Toro Martínez was substituted for Emiliano Velasco. Despidida AFC made a substitution. Ancho Branca replaced Dinu Ivănescu. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ancho Branca in the 75th minute of play. Toro Martínez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes into the game, Felix Montenegro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fernando Selatse. Felix Montenegro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Despidida AFC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
