After 8 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tome Usel was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tome Usel was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Tome Usel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of play forced Union Lara FC's goalkeeper Tome Usel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Union Lara FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tome Usel. Tome Usel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Tome Usel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 36th minute of the match. Ecuador's Luis Andino was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tome Usel in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Union Lara FC's Tome Usel. Tome Usel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tome Usel having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Luis Andino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Tome Usel made a huge save. Savier Labora kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lei Fei Song, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tome Usel having to interfere. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Tome Usel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francis Salazar in the 66th minute of the match. Tome Usel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 69th minute of play. Tome Usel made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. The tension between the Ecuador and the Union Lara FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 81 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. Union Lara FC's Alfredo Guardia pulled a muscle in his back after 91 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 91 minutes, Luis Andino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Union Lara FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 91st minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Tome Usel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
