Colombia's attentive Pascual Carballar managed to snatch the ball when Hermínio Rossi made a throw-in in the 24th minute of the game. Nemesio Cerilo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The crowd rose to their feet as Colombia's Abram Sarmiento slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nemesio Cerilo. That made the score 2-1 after 53 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in pciclon's zone, Kevin Mastache stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nemesio Cerilo came out of the goal and Kevin Mastache tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hermínio Rossi hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Nemesio Cerilo made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Abram Secada sent off a good shot on target. In the 91st minute Ignacio Mastache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nemesio Cerilo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Ignacio Mastache reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nemesio Cerilo. The goal made the score 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
