The USA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Day should have stopped the shot. Nathaniel Burnett struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Marco Day didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Imbituba - FSCMZ. Sidney Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monty Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nathaniel Burnett's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Day read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. The corner led Imbituba - FSCMZ's Pedro Luís Fonseca to fire away a dangerous shot which Marco Day despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 32nd minute, Nathaniel Burnett made a precise shot to the right of Marco Day. USA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 36th minute Jacob May shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidney Motta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Imbituba - FSCMZ made a substitution. Válbson Pimenta replaced Berenguer Anda. Imbituba - FSCMZ's Ersan Ergüleç was substituted for Nathaniel Burnett. Válbson Pimenta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. Imbituba - FSCMZ's Ademar de Mendonça was substituted for Armandinho Loyola. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Válbson Pimenta in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Day prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Imbituba - FSCMZ booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zach Harrison didn't get a good kick on the ball. USA's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Imbituba - FSCMZ had won, even though USA had held more of the ball.
