Tiger's supporters rose to their feet, but Louis Leißner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iwo Sawicki, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Cristian Sancho put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Josef Witlatschil. 26 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Iwo Sawicki came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christo Bothenhain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Thilo Heß had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josef Witlatschil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute, Iwo Sawicki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Tiger was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Folko Rebe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Josef Witlatschil having to interfere. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Josef Witlatschil read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Tiger's Josef Witlatschil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Tiger from getting a goal against them. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Josef Witlatschil made a huge save. With a little luck, Tiger's Josef Witlatschil got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 89th minute. A collision led to Tiger getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Walter Baß hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 95th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Josef Witlatschil. Tiger's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tiger succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
