The player immediately received a yellow card. During the 10th minute of the match Marco Arruda completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Marco Arruda a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Jamaica booed when C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Jamaica's Karlus Waugh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romon Oliver in the 21st minute of play forced C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s goalkeeper Conrado Arantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Jamaica from getting a goal against them. Conrado Arantes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Finlay Stair went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Conrado Arantes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Finlay Stair in the 29th minute of the match. C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s Endang Arnawa quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jarell Hill, made in the 31st minute of the game. Victor Ortle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 41 minutes into the game, when Endang Arnawa put in a rough tackle. A collision led to C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C. getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Endang Arnawa hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s zone, Finlay Stair stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Conrado Arantes came out of the goal and Finlay Stair tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 48 minutes into the match, C.D PAVILHAO 9 F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Romon Oliver came free, but Conrado Arantes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Finlay Stair to make the kick off.
