An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 2nd minute of play forced Tiger's goalkeeper Josef Witlatschil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Pentti Ojala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pentti Ojala in the 3rd minute. The supporters of Tiger booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pentti Ojala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 9th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josef Witlatschil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th minute Iwo Sawicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 13 in the game by Iwo Sawicki from a close distance when the talented Jonathan Ferrant managed to make a qualified save. Venezuela's players were relieved. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pentti Ojala went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After 18 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. Christo Bothenhain might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Christo Bothenhain ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Pentti Ojala sent off a good shot on target. 22 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gaizka Mendieta. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iwo Sawicki couldn't finish the play. Jonathan Ferrant was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Thilo Heß showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 29 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Iwo Sawicki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Pentti Ojala succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 4-0 in the 38th playminute. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Guillermo Mariano got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 44th minute, Camilo Gaos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57thth minute of the game Iwo Sawicki who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pentti Ojala, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 62nd minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 64 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Iwo Sawicki came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tiger's goalkeeper Josef Witlatschil, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Josef Witlatschil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Tiger's Marten Weise was substituted for Iwo Sawicki. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Tiger was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Louis Leißner didn't get a good kick on the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Marten Weise had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marten Weise was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marten Weise in the 82nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Tomas Illescas kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Josef Witlatschil. That made the score 6-1 in the 83 minute of play. When Tiger's Pentti Ojala in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. After 94 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas. After having played for 95 minutes, Christo Bothenhain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tiger's supporters crossed their fingers, but Christo Bothenhain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
