Rey Fillol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 22 minutes into the game, Rolf Kock threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Eliseo Mina quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. If Luz Tejedor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 26 minutes, Julian Murillo made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. 010011110100011001000110's Rey Fillol tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Rey Fillol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 34th minute of the match. 010011110100011001000110's Rey Fillol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luz Tejedor in the 40th minute of play. After 43 played minutes Peru got a freekick which was hit by Joaquin Prats.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Robustiano Nuno was the one to do the kick off. Julian Murillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efraim Gilabert to maneuver through the defense. In the 76th minute Zinoviy Fedoseev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by 010011110100011001000110's Zinoviy Fedoseev. But to his dismay, Zinoviy Fedoseev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Honorio Hunfredo in the 80th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rey Fillol came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Luz Tejedor. But to his dismay, Luz Tejedor quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. Efraim Gilabert got a throw-in 90 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Milagros Fraga. Rey Fillol made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Rafael Gallo sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Gallo got free with Rey Fillol in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
