The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Carsten Eckstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laércio Monteiro in the 34th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Carsten Eckstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laércio Monteiro. Carsten Eckstein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laércio Monteiro to make the kick off. After 51 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Joel Gaona. In the 55th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Luca Rouco got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Carsten Eckstein quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 56 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Laércio Monteiro came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. IFK Hedemora's Carsten Eckstein proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save IFK Hedemora from getting a goal against them. Carsten Eckstein was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Lautaro Mancebo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 60 minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Lundberg came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the game, Richard Lustig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 70th match minute, IFK Hedemora was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Nyberg to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in IFK Hedemora's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carsten Eckstein came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 77 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Laércio Monteiro came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. IFK Hedemora's Carsten Eckstein proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save IFK Hedemora from getting a goal against them. 88 minutes into the game, Ivan Lundberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Ivan Lundberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. IFK Hedemora's supporters rose to their feet, but Ivan Lundberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Lacasa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dudu Paha charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dudu Paha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, IFK Hedemora's Dudu Paha got a free kick in the 95th minute. IFK Hedemora's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
