Sune Nyberg kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Karlsborg's Mattias Håkansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 19th minute of play. After having played for 22 minutes, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmundo Espiga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Esteban Carvallo hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, Karlsborg's Kenny Ekeberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lautaro Navarro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a free kick in the 34th minute. Mattias Håkansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 38th minute of play. In the 41st minute Moises Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mattias Håkansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 45th minute, Joel Classon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Karlsborg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Classon to strike the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Hans Norberg came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Karlsborg's Mattias Håkansson got control of the ball when Edmundo Espiga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mattias Håkansson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 59th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Kenny Ekeberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Navarro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wiktor Karlstedt got a throw-in 72 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Kenny Ekeberg. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 74th minute of play forced Karlsborg's goalkeeper Mattias Håkansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sune Nyberg made in the 76th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Joel Classon. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Espiga got free with Mattias Håkansson in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The long shot by Luca Espinar in the 89th minute really tested Mattias Håkansson's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 93rd minute of the match, Moises Tafalla tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Mattias Håkansson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 95 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Classon came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honduras's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
