Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 55th match minute when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ragnar Vennersten in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Georg Palmquist hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ragnar Vennersten in the 91st minute of play. The Östersunds FK fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
