An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 28th minute of play forced Gülce Leyla's goalkeeper Mustafa Hamit Suyurgal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gunther Stub in the 29th minute of play. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mustafa Hamit Suyurgal having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Serkan Dervişoğlu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Serkan Dervişoğlu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Panama were furious when Felipe Ros was red carded, 39 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 38th minute of the game. One of Panama:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Gülce Leyla:s goal. 41 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Gunther Stub came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isidoro Sarmiento struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Mustafa Hamit Suyurgal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Panama. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adrianinho Pires was the one to do the kick off. Sabit Hancı recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gülce Leyla's Mustafa Hamit Suyurgal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 86th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 88 minutes, Mustafa Hamit Suyurgal successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 90th minute, Panama's Tomas Berganza ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Mustafa Hamit Suyurgal. Mustafa Hamit Suyurgal yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-2. If Tomas Berganza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Adrianinho Pires hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute, Tomas Berganza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
