The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 18 minutes, Sven-Erik Högberg made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sven-Erik Högberg in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Zorita saved El Salvador from getting behind. Valentino Ferrant's late challenge caught a The Alliance's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Valentino Ferrant helped the player get up and apologised. Valentino Ferrant kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, The Alliance's Sven-Erik Högberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricardo Zorita narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 28 minutes, Marco Tamayo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Salvador and the The Alliance players grew even worse after the yellow card. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sven-Erik Högberg in the 33rd minute of play. The Alliance's Kasper Hermansson got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Moises Fernandino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Erik Högberg in the 45th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes had been played when some careless play by El Salvador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Baran Bilge Ulusoy was slow to take the kick. During this time The Alliance's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Baran Bilge Ulusoy almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita did a great save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sven-Erik Högberg was the one to do the kick off. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by The Alliance's Baran Bilge Ulusoy. But to his dismay, Baran Bilge Ulusoy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Valentino Ferrant got a free kick in the 80th minute. Valentino Ferrant hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Sven-Erik Högberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kasper Hermansson in the 89th minute of play.
