After a defensive mix-up in Colombia's zone, Damaso Lain stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Manzanares came out of the goal and Damaso Lain tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Axel Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Melkior Thorslev made a huge save. In the 14th match minute, Cityzens Mdz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Damaso Lain to maneuver through the defense. 18 minutes into the match, Cityzens Mdz's goal looked a bit too open when Santino Seco came free, but Melkior Thorslev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damaso Lain in the 19th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zaid Paker during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 21st minute, Zaid Paker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Melkior Thorslev took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bruno Kaiet made in the 30th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Colombia's Kevin Mastache. If Kevin Mastache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Damaso Lain came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cityzens Mdz's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Axel Montenegro scored to the left of an out of position Melkior Thorslev, making the score, 2-1. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Orlando Tafalla hit a great ball. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damaso Lain in the 42nd minute of play. Kevin Mastache could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Melkior Thorslev made a huge save. 47 minutes into the match, Cityzens Mdz's goalkeeper Melkior Thorslev had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kevin Mastache. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
51 minutes into the game, Colombia's Kevin Mastache nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Melkior Thorslev made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 56th minute, Damaso Lain got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 61 minutes into the game, Luis Cazalla threw the ball into play from the sideline. Cityzens Mdz's Doroteo Arango quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 63rd minute, Luis Cazalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Melkior Thorslev stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abram Sarmiento's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Damaso Lain received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 70th minute of play forced Cityzens Mdz's goalkeeper Melkior Thorslev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Melkior Thorslev made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacio Mastache in the 73rd minute of play. The supporters of Cityzens Mdz booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Cazalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedro Manzanares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Damaso Lain's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Damaso Lain's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Damaso Lain recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Colombia booed when Cityzens Mdz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Argider didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ignacio Mastache in the 87th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Melkior Thorslev prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damaso Lain got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ignacio Mastache recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Colombia fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cityzens Mdz had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
