Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabricio Lawrence having to interfere. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabio Maore, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 24th minute of play forced Los Irrompibles's goalkeeper Fabricio Lawrence to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luka De Roeck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabricio Lawrence made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Placido Aguirre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Fabio Maore sent off a good shot on target. After 39 minutes, Luka De Roeck mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los Irrompibles and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 39 played minutes Los Irrompibles got a freekick which was hit by Luka De Roeck. Santiago Calvet charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Santiago Calvet the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 40th minute, Santiago Calvet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabio Maore, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabio Maore to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Luka De Roeck managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Irrompibles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luka De Roeck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabricio Lawrence read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 59th minute. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Maore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Luka De Roeck came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Los Irrompibles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luka De Roeck couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Fabricio Lawrence tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Los Irrompibles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eleuterio Jerrold didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fabricio Lawrence. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Maore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Los Irrompibles getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Fabio Maore hit a great ball. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
