Horaţiu Bacalbașa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. 6 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Hermenegildo Rebelo was slow to take the kick. During this time Bacardi Black Bats's players had a chance to rest. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Wojciech Grunwalski sent off a good shot on target. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 14 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Artur Brudzisz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Artur Brudzisz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 23 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Artur Brudzisz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Brudzisz having to interfere. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Artur Brudzisz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 31 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Artur Brudzisz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 34th minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. Horaţiu Bacalbașa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Horaţiu Bacalbașa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Artur Brudzisz in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Bacardi Black Bats's Artur Brudzisz did a great save. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Bacardi Black Bats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quentin Platt didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Bacardi Black Bats's Quentin Platt got a free kick in the 57th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horaţiu Bacalbașa in the 59th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bacardi Black Bats's Artur Brudzisz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Bacardi Black Bats from getting a goal against them. Leandro Calçada kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Bacardi Black Bats made a substitution. Alexandre Mourinho replaced Cristóvão França. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Bacardi Black Bats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Calçada didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bacardi Black Bats's goalie prevented a goal. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horaţiu Bacalbașa in the 73rd minute of play. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Bacardi Black Bats's Horaţiu Bacalbașa. But to his dismay, Horaţiu Bacalbașa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Horaţiu Bacalbașa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horaţiu Bacalbașa in the 91st minute of the match. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
