But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastian Villa couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christer Waaler prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dan Ødegaard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rune Gjessing, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Christer Waaler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, Moises Tafalla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christer Waaler. Åsnes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Moises Tafalla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Moises Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Moises Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christer Waaler having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Honduras's Sebastian Villa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christer Waaler narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Sebastian Villa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Christer Waaler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edmundo Espiga to make the kick off. Honduras's Luca Espinar managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Martin Rustad in the 51 minute of the game. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Christer Waaler. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Moises Tafalla took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Christer Waaler to make any attempt to save it. Honduras's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
