Kovlands IF were awarded a corner in the 12th minute after Costa Rica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dag Anderssen took the corner. After taking down the ball on Kovlands IF's corner Dag Anderssen fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Benito Sanz quite easily take care of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Hans Lilleeng managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kovlands IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Hans Lilleeng was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dag Anderssen in the 18th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kovlands IF the free kick. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Lautaro Puig hit a great ball. After 57 played minutes Kovlands IF got a freekick which was hit by Dag Anderssen. Leonard Gregersen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Tasis in the 61st minute of the match. After 65 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. If Dag Anderssen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aaron Alcocer kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Martin Minge charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Hans Lilleeng came free with the goalkeeper in the 76th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Benito Sanz could save by the left post. In the 78th minute, Aaron Alcocer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 79th match minute, Kovlands IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anton Wetteland to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Tasis in the 81st minute of play forced Kovlands IF's goalkeeper Leonard Gregersen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Kovlands IF's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
