Melkior Thorslev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milagros Fraga, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Bruno Kaiet hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Luz Tejedor didn't quite understand what happened when in the 18 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Melkior Thorslev saved Cityzens Mdz from getting behind. If Damaso Lain had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damaso Lain got free with Rolando Noboa in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Emmanuel Reyes made in the 36th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Milagros Fraga however managed to control. Melkior Thorslev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 40th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 43rd minute of play forced Cityzens Mdz's goalkeeper Melkior Thorslev to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. Despite this Melkior Thorslev quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 64 minutes into the match, Cityzens Mdz's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Melkior Thorslev reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute Damaso Lain shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Melkior Thorslev in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Melkior Thorslev made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cityzens Mdz's goalkeeper Melkior Thorslev, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Cityzens Mdz getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Sixto Larra hit a great ball. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Anthony Alvarado hit a great ball. Hillar Tuus missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 95 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Rolando Noboa right hand side. Rafael Gallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Melkior Thorslev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. Peru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
