The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ferhan Yildıran stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Venezuela were furious when Rigoberto Mina was red carded, 52 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Venezuela:s Jonathan Ferrant showed great skill when he stopped Irinel Iliuță:s penalty. Iulian Pânzariu's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
