Christer Waaler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abraham Alguacil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 11 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Morten Hestad came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Isidoro Sarmiento hit a great ball. When Tomas Berganza came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. Christer Waaler made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 26th minute. 27 minutes had been played when some careless play by Åsnes's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Abraham Alguacil was slow to take the kick. During this time Panama's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Panama's Abraham Alguacil to fire away a dangerous shot which Christer Waaler despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of Åsnes booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidoro Sarmiento didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Morten Hestad in the 35th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Morten Hestad notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Abraham Alguacil who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of Christer Waaler when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Abraham Alguacil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Christer Waaler made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Berganza was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Åsnes's goal looked a bit too open when Abraham Alguacil came free, but Christer Waaler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Berganza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christer Waaler having to interfere. Christer Waaler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. When Tomas Berganza came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Panama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Berganza couldn't finish the play. Christer Waaler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Alguacil in the 69th minute of the match. When Åsnes's Morten Hestad in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Panama's goalie prevented a goal. Tomas Berganza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christer Waaler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Panama's Tomas Berganza got a free kick in the 74th minute. Christer Waaler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Alguacil, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Christer Waaler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 80th minute of the match. Marcos Cotilla was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Kristian Sandersen. After 93 minutes of play Panama's Felipe Ros was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Felipe Ros hit a great ball. After having played for 95 minutes, Kristian Sandersen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Åsnes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kristian Sandersen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Although Panama had been in control for most of the match, Åsnes still came away with the win.
