When Arí Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Maxaranguape - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arí Paiva couldn't finish the play. Felix Montenegro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cléber Souza having to make a save. 40 minutes into the match, Luis Andino notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Maxaranguape - FSCMZ's Cléber Souza. Cléber Souza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Agustín Saelices's late challenge caught a Maxaranguape - FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Agustín Saelices helped the player get up and apologised.

The wind increased when Arí Paiva made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arí Paiva in the 56th minute of the match. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Maxaranguape - FSCMZ made a substitution. Magno Leite replaced Arnt Aronsen. Maxaranguape - FSCMZ's Robbie Lefevere was substituted for Arí Paiva. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robbie Lefevere in the 89th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robbie Lefevere in the 90th minute of the match. After 91 minutes, Robbie Lefevere mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maxaranguape - FSCMZ and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 94th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
