All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A sloppy throw-in by Lambis Zacharatos in the 77th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Markos Seremetidiss short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Rolando Noboa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 80 minutes in the game, Lakis Tsopakis got a free kick from a good position and fired away a shot. The shot didn't have enough spin and went out of bounds to the left of the goal. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo.
