In the 31stth minute of the game Jerzy Duda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zdzislaw Motyl having to interfere. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerzy Duda in the 35th minute of the match. Damian Sobczak got a throw-in 37 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Edmund Ciechocki. When the match had gone on for 38 minutes, Edmundo Espiga took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Zdzislaw Motyl to make any attempt to save it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerzy Duda in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. In the 44th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zdzislaw Motyl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jerzy Duda made a kick off. Jerzy Duda's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Lautaro Navarro firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 54th minute Jerzy Duda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 56 minutes, Jerzy Duda made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Zdzislaw Motyl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Honduras were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
