In the 17th minute, Edmundo Espiga sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Åsnes's Christer Waaler didn't even have to move. Sebastian Villa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Christer Waaler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Honduras's Esteban Carvallo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Steffen Askvik in the 24 minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Åsnes's Kenneth Leidland got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christer Waaler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the match, Honduras's goal looked a bit too open when Rune Gjessing came free, but Lautaro Navarro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honduras's attentive Esteban Carvallo managed to snatch the ball when Jon Hesjedal made a throw-in in the 32nd minute of the game. If Morten Hestad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Morten Hestad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Villa to maneuver through the defense. Åsnes's Christer Waaler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 46th minute of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rune Gjessing, who was totally free with the ball in the 50th minute. Kristian Sandersen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. Lautaro Navarro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Morten Hestad went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rune Gjessing got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Åsnes's Morten Hestad in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Honduras's goalie prevented a goal. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Åsnes to win.
