Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Andino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alejo Fe breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Dragons XI's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alejo Fe came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 10th minute Pang Hong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alejo Fe was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 17th minute, Pang Hong left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dragons XI fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After having played for 24 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dinu Grecea received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Julio Vera came out and tried to block the shot, but Dinu Grecea slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 32nd minute. Alejo Fe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of the match. In the 39thth minute of the game Felix Montenegro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dragons XI's Alejo Fe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 40th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alejo Fe in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Dragons XI's goalie prevented a goal. In the 40thth minute of the game Cristian Sancho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Dragons XI's Alejo Fe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alejo Fe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Dinu Grecea tried to sneak it across the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dinu Grecea made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Dragons XI's Tizian Stange got a free kick in the 55th minute. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pang Hong in the 61st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Tizian Stange kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Dragons XI made a substitution. Andrew Müller replaced Renato Leonhard. In the 76th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejo Fe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dragons XI's Alejo Fe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 78th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alejo Fe having to interfere. Hauke Bayer's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hauke Bayer helped the player get up and apologised. In the 80th minute, Hauke Bayer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alejo Fe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tizian Stange fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Walter Breda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zorita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 92nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The Dragons XI support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
