The corner led to Mexico's Lorenzo Cazalla getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. ★Independiente Ψ★'s Maximiliano Iigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 39th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Luca Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Maximiliano Iigo. ★Independiente Ψ★'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luca Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Joel Gaona received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Maximiliano Iigo came out and tried to block the shot, but Joel Gaona slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 43rd minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 52nd minute of play forced ★Independiente Ψ★'s goalkeeper Maximiliano Iigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the game, Macos Graciani threw the ball into play from the sideline. ★Independiente Ψ★'s Jairo Hotz quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion.
