Felix Montes might have been able to make a better finish in the 12th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Phil Porter. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montes ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of play forced FC LIVERPOOL's goalkeeper Phil Porter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Phil Porter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Phil Porter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 36th minute of the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martial Jay in the 38th minute of play. In the 45th minute of the match Diogo Godin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. In the 46th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 47 minutes, Diogo Godin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC LIVERPOOL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Diogo Godin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pere Montaña made a kick off. 55 minutes into the match, FC LIVERPOOL's goalkeeper Phil Porter had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Felix Montenegro. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. In the 57th match minute, FC LIVERPOOL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diogo Godin to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Ecuador booed when FC LIVERPOOL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ashley Wiseman didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bektaş Ali Toper in the 85th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 86th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Phil Porter could save by the left post. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 91st minute. A well done corner resulted in Felix Montenegro drilling the ball in to score 0-2 behind FC LIVERPOOL's goalkeeper. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. The FC LIVERPOOL fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
