When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. In the 35th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Filomeno Tormes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Asturcones d´la Abadía's supporters rose to their feet, but Filomeno Tormes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Xurxo Lagunas put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 76th minute, Filomeno Tormes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 1-2. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enetz Carballeira in the 86th minute.
