Felix Montenegro hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, Åsnes's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Christer Waaler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Christer Waaler when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a little luck, Åsnes's Christer Waaler got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Åsnes's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Christer Waaler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Primitivo Andino charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Primitivo Andino the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 36th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. In the 38th minute there was a penalty for Åsnes. Tobias Haugvaldstad stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Julio Vera. 0-1.

After a rather tough play, Åsnes's Martin Rustad got a free kick in the 51st minute. Åsnes's Christer Waaler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 53rd minute of play. 53 minutes into the game, Rune Gjessing was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Åsnes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. A collision led to Åsnes getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Rune Gjessing hit a great ball. 59 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christer Waaler. Åsnes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agustín Saelices was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 64 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Åsnes's Christer Waaler. Christer Waaler was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Åsnes's Christer Waaler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christer Waaler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Ecuador players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
