In the 11th minute Cutberto Dorado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Primo Quijana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 23rd minute, Gaizkine Paredes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cutberto Dorado in the 25th minute of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Primo Quijana tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Velasco Ocaña having to make a save. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Kivimaki FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Polo Merino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cutberto Dorado, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 57th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Kivimaki FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 61st minute. Penalty! Kivimaki FC:s Velasco Ocaña showed great skill when he stopped Tomas Illescas:s penalty. 63 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Velasco Ocaña was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gaizkine Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 77 minutes into the game, Cutberto Dorado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cutberto Dorado in the 81st minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the game, Jose-Enrique Orbiz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kivimaki FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. Jose-Enrique Orbiz kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Teobaldo Astudillo hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. 88 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Velasco Ocaña narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Kivimaki FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Venezuela had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
